From Numbers to Narratives: AIDAHO Lecture of the summer term 2025 [17.03.25]
On April 4th, Dr. Jan Georg Plavec will hold the AIDAHO Lecture on Data Science in Journalism as a speaker. Before the lecture, the new graduates of the AIDAHO program will be ceremoniously awarded their certificates.
For this lecture, we are shifting our focus away from technical aspects and towards applications of data science in journalism. Under the theme "From Numbers to Narratives," this semester's AIDAHO Lecture will explore how data science and automation are shaping the field.
How do AI, data science, and journalism intersect? In what areas can these fields complement each other? And where are these technologies already being applied? These are some of the key questions the lecture will delve into.
Dr. Plavec is the Senior Editor for Data Journalism and Digital Projects at Stuttgarter Zeitung and Stuttgarter Nachrichten. His projects have received multiple awards and he is the founder of the data journalism network ddjbw.
