In our public AIDAHO Lecture, on Wednesday, June 28th, Stephanie Bergbauer from the European Central Bank (ECB) will delve into the exciting realm of central bank digital currency (CBDC), focusing on the potential of the Digital Euro. She is a lead expert in the ECB’s Directorate General Market Infrastructure and Payments and will talk about what the Digital Euro really is.

 

With the rapid rise of digital payments, questions about a future where physical cash is obsolete have become more prevalent. What does this mean for existing forms of payment?
